8-bit Calavera.

Here is my piece for the Autumn Society & Ground Kontrol’s 8-bit Calavera show. 40 Autumn Society artists are painting/decorating Nintendo cartridges in a Dia De Los Muertos theme. Mine is done using a Van Dyke Brown print that is hand tinted and drawn on. Then I used acrylic paint to decorate the cartridge & attached the print with PVA. The show will be featured in Portland, OR at Ground Kontrol so be sure to check out the other artists cartridges on the Autumn Society’s website.

SHAD FEST!

Thanks everyone who made it out to Shad fest this past Saturday! The day went great, and I couldn't have asked for better weather. I got a very special surprise when Adam (who had been stuck in the Netherlands due to the volcano) got back a day early and showed up to Shad fest! I couldn't have been happier. It didn't hurt that I sold some stuff too!

A very very very special thanks to Claire (my adorable little sister picture below), Chris, Liz, and Thom for all the help with the booth! Craft fairs are no fun unless you can have that key person to help out and watch out for you. You guys are the best! So I'll leave you with some not so great iphone photos from the day. I swear one of these days I'm going to get a nice camera. Thanks again everyone!!!!

Bangs Are Back!

I just found this! So great, and funny!

My bangs are now famous on Elizabeth Wellington's blog Mirror Image. Elizabeth writes for the Philly Inquirer and did a great piece on Pop-Up Art shops in which she also interviewed Abby and I about All By Hand! During the interview she kept commenting on how much she liked my bangs. My great friend Jenni at Plume cuts my hair and always does such a great job! Elizabeth like my bangs so much she wrote a really fun piece on her blog about how bangs are back! Read the blog article here, and read the full Inquirer article here!

Thanks so much Elizabeth! Such a funny shout out, and I'm totally loving it!!!

Me and my newly famous bangs. (Well sort of famous, but I'm totally going to live it up)

XOXO,

Julianna
